ICEA is a centre for learning and training students in earthen architecture, sustainable techniques and most of all empowering student and young graduates to build and design naturally to help be the change in our society. We are focusing on art, architecture and lifestyle to inculcate responsibility and sensitivity towards environment not just in our practice as architects but in an overall transformation as humans to live as naturally and as sustainably as possible.
ICEA’s main objective is to be a source of knowledge and a platform wherein everyone can learn about the benefits of earth building by first hand experiences through our work. We are currently working on the Research and Development of various techniques that we can incorporate in our earth buildings with respect to the area’s climatic conditions, naturally available materials and its contemporary design. We have certain projects to our credit, which act as models for students who are keen to learn and for the people interested in living naturally, to assimilate the fact that construction with mud is possible and is completely viable in today’s context where on the other hand construction is happening using all machine made materials( having a very high embodied energy) in amounts that are not even required for the building. It is a time to be conscious and concerned about the climate change and do the needful.
